About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Thrift Finds

Great day at the thrifts today! I found more than a week's worth of girl's summer skorts for next summer, an assortment of leggings, and a few summer girl's casual dresses, also for next year(and beyond). Some of the skorts are jeans material, so my daughter can wear these with leggings into next spring. I got them a size up which, although large, still manage to fit because of an elastic waist. Also purchased: socks, modest like-new bathing suit(hard to find!), warm night clothes, and a pair of leg warmers for myself.

Many of the skirts were .99 cents. Other items were $1.98, and few $4.99. All were in great condition with a few being new with tags.

My teenage son is already stocked with jeans and long sleeved T's(his cold weather uniform - ha-ha). Girl's clothing is so much more fun to buy. I clipped out a fashion look(at left) for my daughter's "look" this fall/winter as a guide. She likes it, and it suits her well. I think this clipping is from the Children's Place. My daughter likes to add a hat to every ensemble, and is never without her Crocs. We copy this easy mix and match look, although use longer skorts/skirts closer to the knee, with thrift and discount finds.
