I picked up a few long sleeved t-shirts at our Dollar Tree this week, and I'm thinking of dressing them up with this easy dye technique using Elmer's blue gel school glue.
Another idea - using a bleach pen to write and/or draw on non-white fabric. I picked one up at the Dollar Tree.

I used to dye at home with a 'commercial' dye found at Wally World. I found out it was toxic. Really toxic. I destroyed my stainless steel soup pot! I could only use it for dyeing.
I think if I ever 'dye' again it will be with teas or your fabulous 'bleach pen'!
Thanks for the tip!
I've used Rit dye(powder) for years, but I don't think it's particularly toxic. I always wear gloves with it.
If you don't trust Rit, Kool-Aid can be used. Natural dyes are fun to make as well. I'll add a link. I haven't tried this product, but German Deka is popular among those looking for low toxicity.
If you want pink, just wash some red clothing that "bleeds" in with your white T's! That's what i do to dye fabrics pink. I have a $5.00 red India rag rug which I use for this purpose.
