About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Homemade Cold Porcelain

We'll be making these snails for our shells next week with some homemade cold porcelain(very easy).

Update, 2/7/11:

Here are ours, made this afternoon. I am hoping I made the dough moist enough and that they don't crack. We'll see tomorrow. The round thingy is a flower pot with a door, upon request by the little one. She made the baby snail and helped with the two others.

It was so easy! It's still drying though...I didn't follow the directions and used part flour and less glue. I think the heavier flour takes longer to dry. No cracking which is good - I basted it with watery glue and having been heating them in the oven on the warm setting, off and on.
