About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Last Day of Christmas

Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan
to be baptized by him.
John tried to prevent him, saying,
“I need to be baptized by you,
and yet you are coming to me?”
Jesus said to him in reply,
“Allow it now, for thus it is fitting for us
to fulfill all righteousness.”
Then he allowed him.
After Jesus was baptized,
he came up from the water and behold,
the heavens were opened for him,
and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove
and coming upon him.
And a voice came from the heavens, saying,
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” ~
Mt 3:13-17

Today at mass we celebrated the last day of the Christmas season which ends with the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, the beginning of Jesus' s public ministry.

"Jesus’ baptism was a manifestation of the Father’s
love for the Son and for all of us daughters and
sons in whom the Father sees the face of Christ.

As we are loved, so, too are we called
to give of ourselves as Jesus gave for us;
to serve others as Jesus taught us;
to forgive as freely as Jesus forgives us;
to love as he loved - without counting the cost.
Under the Cross of mercy,
we gather at the table of sacrifice,
where we are served by the Master who calls us friends,
who names us his brothers and sisters.

Pray that in the Supper we share
we will find ourselves named as God’s own
and nourished to love as we have been loved." ~ Concord Pastor

Answered your question better on my blog but wasn't sure you would find it. So sure, it would be really nice to post the image with a link back. God bless, Kay
