About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Feast of the Assumption

The Assumption of the Mother of God was recognized on Sunday, and is observed by Catholics, Anglicans, and most Orthodox(as The Dormition).

"...what Christ did for us is of first importance, but we see in Our Lady the first-fruits of what is of first importance.  She was the first to have received the grace of the redemption through her Immaculate Conception and her suffering with Christ at the foot of his Cross, and she was the first to receive the fullness of the grace of the Resurrection through her glorification in Heaven, which is what we are celebrating today...the Son of God, in the most literal sense, came into this world through Mary, through her very body.  He was Pure Spirit for all eternity, yet going through Mary, He entered this world as man.  The Word became flesh, in and through Our Lady." The Assumption in classical art: Titian, Poussin, Rubens, Correggio, El Greco, etc.

Prayers for the Lord's blessings to all my readers. May God grant you peace.
