About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Forcing Forsythia

These cuttings began to bloom today, about 10 days after I placed them by the window in some water. Unfortunately, the cat has knocked them off(naughty cat),  and drinks all the water out of the vase. Still they managed to bloom. Next time I'll add more cuttings to the vase; this arrangement is a little sparse(and bedraggled), but it's nice to see color again.

The pieces were much longer and over arching before they where snapped in half by Mr. Kitty. I just stuffed the snapped off short pieces back into the water. Not as pretty as I had hoped for this picture.

I love forsythia, but I love your precious pussycat even more. My goodness, they make the house even more homey!

Ours is almost ready to bloom too. Primroses are out and daffodils almost flowering. I can't wait for proper spring.
