are the ones I've made from shells, barnacles, and coral over the years. All were found on beach walks in my area, and a few from the beach in Florida when my grandmother was still alive. My shells are on the front door side; the children got(took over, giggle) the living room side for their ornaments.
Personally, I'd prefer a creche scene and/or a small Jesse Tree to be the focus, but my husband and children would protest. My husband's mother is German, so Christmas trees were very important during the holidays, whereas I was raised for many years in Latin America where trees were present, but not as culturally significant.

Pretty!
(I once saw an angel made out of shells and have had it travelling in the back of my mind as a possible 'craft' for the kiddos...)
I use an artificial tree as well. I have tried using real ones but they dry out and become too messy. I lost a few of my favorite ornaments from our first year of marriage a few years ago when the tree dried out and the tip of the branches broke that were holding them; they shattered when they hit the floor. I said then I would never use a real one again as our main tree. I do have a couple of little ones that I decorate and will plant later and they do not dry out. I love your ornaments and I had to smile when I read your comment about the kids taking over the living room side of the tree. How funny.
I am so looking forward to the ballgame and I admit I would love for Bama to win but I will be proud of them if they lose also. My son played baseball in college and I know how hard these athletes work and the stress that is placed on them. I just hope both teams have a safe game and no one gets hurt. . . and Bama wins. Thanks for sharing and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Blessing,
Elizabeth
