I've been busy cleaning, not just the general cleaning, but the detail work that gets put to the side until I have a large chunk of time and energy.
Today I wiped down walls, cleaned kitchen cabinets and baseboards, and wiped off fans and overhead lights. Not so much fun but the results are wonderful. I used George Foreman's lemon cleaner amended with a little Sal Suds which got the walls and cabinets clean of grease and dirt without stripping the paint off. The smell is terrific, and everything looks fresh again.
While cleaning out my kitchen cabinet, I found some very old honey wedged back in a corner and a container of some Scottish oatmeal which was a little too unprocessed for my taste. I don't want them to go to waste, so I'm will trying this Jewish recipe for Honey Cakes on Sunday.
I'll be modifying it somewhat, using the non-alcoholic version and adding oatmeal. I'll post the results later.
Update: This was a good tasting cake. I added the oatmeal(one cup) and an extra 1/2 cup of liquid. It's very close to a spice cake only a bit more moist. I used tea, but I bet coffee would have given this a richer taste. I may even add some pumpkin next time.

Hey! You know, you could always use both of those for beauty potions...Oatmeal/honey masks! That makes one's skin really soft.
I need to do a good deep cleaning, too. :)
Sounds good. Made me think of the Wiggles song of Crunchy munchie honey cakes.

"Time and energy"
I'm having a bit of time, the problem is the energy.
Not only do I have to have a chunk of time to clean, I have to be in the mood. When I'm in the mood to clean, I can move mountains. I take it by "spells" as us southerners say! The Honey Cakes sound good.
