About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

A Year of Reading Good Books

This is super for homeschoolers. One hundred classic books on CD for $19.00, includes instructions for turning them into audio books. Offered at Samizdat Books. I've ordered from this e-store before and was happy with the service.

These are books offered free online(and public libraries, of course), but he has taken the time to compile them for the customer, and place them all on a CD. This saves hours of downloading! You'll have all the books handy on your PC or laptop. I load ours onto a portable flash drive and read the e-books on our mini laptop.

Samizdat books will also load your flash drive for free if you'd prefer this over a CD.

This is a person who loves books, see his sidebar for all his book categories, and other helpful ebook tips. The only downside is that all the books are in plain text, so you lose the benefit of illustrations in the children's books. These are better when downloaded online from free sources.
