About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Inexpensive Rattan and Floor Cushions

My 16 year old couch has finally hit the road, or rather the curb for a Freecycler. Since the room with this older couch is the children's den/playroom, I bought some hip young people furniture at CostPlus World Market, rattan Papasan chairs and a cream Indian wool rug. I am going back to get some coordinating sheers/window treatments.

They are loving the Papasan chair, and it's even comfortable for mama. The cushion can be used as a giant floor cushion - so comfortable, and the dog loved it! (Picture before we added the cream area rug)

I'm looking for a few small floor pillows as well. Pictured below are some designer French floor pillows, way out of my price range, but beautiful.

Walmart has some for $20.00, but I'm not sure I like the shape and style. I'd like something that makes a design statement, and blends with the world market theme. I may get this brown one from CostPlus.

Update:
Check ebay for World Market coupons. I saw some $10.00 off $50.00. Go through Ebates or Bigcrumbs.com for cash back shopping at ebay.

Update: We loved these papasan chairs so much, that we went back to purchase two more only this time with dark brown microfiber cushions. They are very sturdy and comfortable even for my large framed husband who routinely falls asleep in them.

Thanks....great pattern for hiding stains! Although the children are usually pretty good about this. I run after the little one with napkin after meals. ;)
