Well, I missed the boat on this one! I just bought an Energy Star refrigerator this past week. A Cash for Appliances is coming this fall. This program will vary by state. I was hoping for a tax credit, but this may still happen as well.
"Beginning late this fall, the program authorizes rebates of $50 to $200 for purchases of high-efficiency household appliances. The money is part of the broader economic stimulus bill passed earlier this year. Program details will vary by state, and the Energy Dept. has set a deadline of Oct. 15 for states to file formal applications. The Energy Dept. expects the bulk of the $300 million to be awarded by the end of November. (Unlike the clunkers auto program, consumers won't have to trade in their old appliances.) "

I'm really looking forward to this new Cash for Refrigerators program to go underway.. I've got a new home I've purchased that is full of old appliances, can't wait to switch 'em out!!
My dryer and stove are 25 years old! We might have to check into this. Thanks.
just wonderful....our old refrigerator was on its last legs, so we bought a new fridge just last week :-( Seems if I'm not too late, I'm too early!
