About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Homemade BBQ Sauce

I ended up with quite a bit homemade ketchup last month, so I took a bottle and turned it into BBQ sauce by adding a little lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and onion powder, pepper, coriander, celery salt, powdered mustard, and cumin. I also added a bit more vinegar for more tang.

Here is the original recipe from Hillybilly Housewife for BBQ sauce. It's very easy, and you can add which ever spices you like to your own taste.

While at the library, I saw some interesting BBQ recipes in the most recent Martha Stewart magazine. I adapted some of the spice ingredients to my recipe.
