We are still experimenting with foods for the East, so this week I tried Shawarma(Lebanese). I decided to use Rachel Ray's Recipe because other versions seemed a little bland.
This was so good, and my husband loved it. As usual, I changed some of the ingredients such as deleting the paprika and peppers in favor of mint, extra garlic, and chopped cucumbers marinated in lemon/vinegar/yogurt/garlic salt. The sauce needed to be thinned, so I added more lemon juice.
I made my own tahini as well - this is so easy. I've got enough left over to try other recipes with tahini.
About Me
- Alexandra
- A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.
