About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Frugal Eco- Cleaners at Family Dollar

I swung by Family Dollar today to purchased a few boxes of tissues, and found some green cleaners in the clearance aisle for $1.80 and $1.20 each! I got a few bottles of Clorox Green Works dilutable cleaner and dishwashing liquid, and George Foreman's Kitchens & More cleaner. They also carry Palmolive's Eco-dishwashing liquid for only $2.50. Then at the check-out I noticed Chapstick's all natural lip balm, a copy cat of Burt's Bees for .99 cents. I looked at the ingredients, and sure enough, they are all natural. I'm going to check for coupons on these products and return!

It's getting easier to be green now. I am glad to see these products at such affordable prices. My tween son does his own cleaning, so these products will keep him safe and healthy.

I'd like to try George Foreman's carpet cleaners as well, but I didn't find it at Family Dollar. George's website lists Family Dollar, Dollar General, and A& P as retailers for his products.

Update: .50 cent off Clorox Green Works coupon. Back click to print twice. I also saw some on ebay. Ack, could I get these in time to use them on the clearance?! I think I'll take a chance. Use Bigcrumbs.com to click through to ebay in order to receive a small rebate from your ebay purchases.

Thanks for the heads up on the Palmolive's Eco. That is the brand I use. ;-) I'll have to go check out our Family Dollar store.

I went back today and used my two coupons...hardly anything left on clearance. I've used that Palmolive eco+ before and it worked just fine; however, there are some bad reviews online for this detergent. I think most of the complaints were that it left a film. If this happened to us, I'd just fill up the rinse thingy with vinegar. I have regular family-with-small-children dishes, so no crystal to film up. ;)
