About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Frugal and Flexible: Ethnic Wrap Skirts and Dresses

For the past 3 years, I have been trying to return to my pre-pregnancy weight. So in the meantime, I have to be creative about finding clothes that complement a chubby middle aged body. I tend to run hot, so I like to choose cottons or light synthetics. Wrap skirts look nice on me, and if you buy ethnic wrap skirts/dresses they are adjustable, really adjustable. I was browsing ebay and noticed that they adjust up from Small to XL! Not only is this economical for pregnancy and beyond, but it's great for weight changes as well. I know I can buy a skirt today, and if(praying) I lose weight, I can still wear it then.

I also noticed another flexible dress/skirt, the Magic Dress. This dress or skirt can be worn at many different ways. Some of them are too revealing for me, but I like the flexibility. They come with a DVD for instructions on wearing the fabric which is recycled vintage sari material. I love the fabric on this one(pictured above).

Here is a regular wrap skirt made in Thailand that I'm thinking about purchasing. It gets so hot here in the summer; this would be perfect. These pants which tie at the waist look really comfortable, but look like they will need ironing. I try to avoid clothes that need ironing. ;)
