About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Rooting Trees Question

I've got these branches in some water with fertilizer in it. Do you think they will root? One is a Japanese maple, the other some sort of cherry blossom, but I'm not sure. The cherry blossom branch is off my neighbor's tree, and she is not sure what it is either.

They might, it's surprising how many things will root in water!
I've had better luck with trees/shrubs/roses by putting soft-wood cuttings in dirt under a glass jar.

Thanks, I might try this!
