About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Very cool! Even cheaper and easier, though, is Ciscoe Morris' method: drill lots of drainage holes in an old garbage can, fill it half full of good dirt and plant your spuds. As they grow up, cover plants with straw every time they get about 8" above the previous layer. In the fall, dump the whole thing onto a tarp. Pick out the spuds and throw the rest in your compost pile. No digging, no mess! Works a treat, too.

Myrnie, thanks! I will try this because I don't have the patience to build something like this. I'll pass it on too...I know someone who would love to try this.
