About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Doughnut Day

Like my family, Mrs. Pear enjoys Rod & Staff books for the children. Whenever I see these books they immediately make me happy, and my little ones seem drawn to them as well. I just won a big lot of these Little Jewel Books on ebay this past week...can't wait to receive them. My grandparents were Pennsylvania Dutch(non-Mennonite) from Lehigh valley, and these books take me back to my childhood when I spent summers with them in the country.

Check out the delicious looking doughnuts Mrs Pear made as a part of their preschool curriculum for "D" day! She used a copycat recipe for Krispy Kreme glazed donuts. The book, Doughnut Day can be ordered here.

By the way, I've mentioned this before, but Mrs. Pear is working her way through the alphabet as a part of her homeschool preschool. I wish my daughter was ready for this because I'd love to follow along. We did much the same with my older son.
