About Me

My Photo
A homeschooling mother of one teenager and a little. In 2001, I resigned from my 13 year position as a case manager to homeschool my oldest who was a preschooler at the time, and later a daughter who came along in 2005. This is by far the hardest job I've ever loved. My husband of nearly 20 years supports us as a fire fighter and EMT.

Learning About Herbs and Free Resources

Free Resources For Learning About Herbs

And check out Mountain Rose Herbs. I just got their catalog today, and they offer organic seeds as well as herbs, oils, and other organic culinary and cosmetic items.

My three year old daughter seems to have inherited her mother's interest in nature. My son is thoroughly bored by it, but I was thrilled when my daughter helped me plant all our seeds last week. Since she seems interested, I'll be ordering Mountain Rose's children's seed growing kit, $14.95. It includes an instructional booklet and "13 packets of seeds from Sena's garden (organically grown of course). Basil, Borage, Calendula, California Poppy, Catnip, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Fennel, Feverfew, Flax, Johnny Jump-Up, Lemon Balm and Love-in-a-Mist."

I can't wait to begin her little garden! Now I'll have to get her a little pink gardening set.

Your daughter sounds so cute planting those seeds! Don't give up on your son for future gardening. My own daughter never cared a fig about it when she was growing up, but now LOVES the outdoors and plants flowers and other things constantly in her small yard.

Hmm, maybe my son will be interested later in life. It's so difficult to get him involved in any type of science.
